Short answers to the questions people ask before and after installing Row-Template.
Which panels are supported?
3X-UI (MHSanaei) 3.6.0 or newer, PasarGuard 5.x, and Rebecca 1.x — the Go edition, from Rebecca’s binary install. Rebecca’s Docker image is still the 0.0.x Python edition, which cannot render the page; the installer refuses it without changing anything. See Compatibility.
Does Row-Template change or patch my panel?
No. It installs into its own directory and changes as little as possible: on 3X-UI one setting, subThemeDir; on PasarGuard one marked block at the end of .env; on Rebecca two fields of its subscription settings. It never edits the panel’s files, and never touches users, inbounds, clients, nodes or certificates. Uninstall puts each change back.
Will my subscribers’ VPN apps keep working?
Yes. The page is served only to browsers; when a VPN app fetches the same link, the panel returns normal subscription content. row-template verify checks this for you on 3X-UI, and on PasarGuard and Rebecca when you give it a subscription link in RT_SMOKE_URL.
I run more than one panel on one server. Which one does Row-Template serve?
The one you choose. An interactive install asks; a scripted fresh install must name it with RT_PANEL=3xui, pasarguard or rebecca, and stops before changing anything if it does not. One installation serves one panel, and updates keep it. To move it to another panel, run row-template uninstall first, then install again.
Does the page send data anywhere?
No. It makes no third-party requests — no CDNs, web fonts, analytics, or external QR and geolocation services. Its only request is the status refresh to the panel it was served from. On PasarGuard, the icons of the applications you list are not loaded for the same reason.
Why do the figures not refresh on PasarGuard and Rebecca?
They do from 1.4.0: the page asks each panel for the figures at its own /<token>/info address. In 1.3.x it showed the figures as of when it was opened. If they still do not refresh, see Troubleshooting.
Do I need sqlite3?
Not necessarily. On 3X-UI, without it you set Sub Theme Directory in the panel yourself, once; with it, Row-Template does that for you and verify can check it. On Rebecca it is needed, with Rebecca’s default SQLite database, for automatic activation; otherwise you set two values in the dashboard. PasarGuard does not need it.
Can I switch designs later?
Yes, as often as you like: row-template → 2 — Reconfigure branding → 4 — Template. Your branding stays. Choosing a template →
Do updates keep my branding and design?
Yes. Branding is never touched by an update, your design is kept as long as the new release ships it, and the panel your installation serves stays the same.
How do I upgrade from 1.1.0 or 1.2.0?
Run row-template update once. From 1.1.0, the next time you open the manager, or run config or verify as root, the rest of the release is downloaded automatically. Updating →
Why does row-template update reinstall the version I already have?
On the command line, update always applies the latest release — that makes it a reliable repair. The manager’s 1 — Update compares versions first and asks. Updating →
Can I use my own design?
Not in 1.4.0: only the seventeen shipped designs can be installed, each verified by its checksum. A proposal for custom templates is recorded in the project’s design notes.
Can I use it behind a reverse proxy or CDN?
Yes, if the proxy passes requests through unchanged: the panel needs the original request headers to tell browsers from VPN apps, and on 3X-UI the page requests its own address with ?format=info for live status. verify checks both from the server.
How much disk space does it use?
A few megabytes: the release archive is under 5 MB, and each design is a single file under 200 KiB.
Is there a log file?
No. Every command reports to the terminal. row-template verify is the place to look for the current state.
Can I run it without root?
row-template version and row-template help work for any user. Installing and every command that changes something need root.
Can I go back to an older version?
rollback restores the page and the version number recorded in a backup, but not the manager itself, and only the two newest backups are kept. To run 1.1.0 or 1.2.0 again, you would uninstall and install that release — on 3X-UI only. See Rolling back across versions.
Was there a 1.2.1?
Not as a public release. The fixes prepared under that number are included in 1.3.0.
Can the page use the applications I listed in PasarGuard?
Yes, from 1.4.0. When Settings → Subscription → Applications has entries, the Connect card shows those, with your descriptions and download links, instead of its built-in apps. Details →
